Mandy and Tracy

1.
Tracy is the baddest bitch in prison, her own words. She is the one who rules. Alto she´s a little afraid she´ll loose her social status so whenever the other girls in Garret´s experience her as a little soft she does something bad to get the status back.
She is really good at writing poems, according to Mandy. But since it makes her “soft” I don’t think she does it too often.
She ended up in Garrets when she was 15 years old. When she is 18 she´ll move across the road to an actual jail and when she is 21 and 4 months she will be free.
She tells Mandy how Garrets gives her such anger, she can´t feel sorry about what she did to get put in there in the first place. She just wants out.
2.
Mandy loved Tracy´s essay, she tells us how she even cried reading it.
In this chapter Mandy is starting to question Tracy. I think she is a little scared of her and what she is capable of.

3.       I feel like Tracy is starting to give up a little. But not in a necessarily bad way. She is thinking about giving the bad bitch social status to a new girl in Garret and said she was about to do her homework. Maybe Mandy inspired her to the better.
Mandy tells us how her birthday for once was quiet good. Steve wasn’t an issue and her parents seemed to care. I think she is getting quiet serious with a boy that I don’t know the name of. He gave her some kind of silver jewelry. So I think her life is pretty good now. Alto Tracy seems to bring her mood down a bit.

4.       Mandy is scared a little scared of Tracy and what she is capable of. She afraid that one day Tracy will show up at her doorstep wanting to move in with her. Mandy´s parent would freak and they would all be living with a criminal. I think Mandy feels like she doesn’t need another person with bad behavior in her family. She already has Steve.

5.       Tracy is scared that Mandy is going to stop writing to her. Since everyone in Garett is afraid of her she doesn’t really have any friends. Mandy is the only one. I don’t think the relationships she has with her family is so strong, so Mandy is really important to her.

6.       I think these letters are great for Tracy. It makes her a little softer, which is good since she´s quiet bad.

7.       I think Tracy and Mandy have gotten to know each other pretty well. They have both told personal parts about their lives so I think they have created a good friendship.

1.

Mandy is a 15 year old girl living with her parents and brother. The relationship she has with her family members is kind of weak. Her parents work a lot and her brother Steve has some serious issues. Listening to Mandy´s letters she seems to be pretty shy. But maybe i´m all wrong. Like she said herself, she is the one choosing what to tell and what not to tell Tracy about her life. She seems to be kind and really trustworthy.
Tracy seems to be a girl with a confidence. But she told Mandy she´s really quiet and maybe a little shy at school. She lives with her parents and her brother. She has great relationships with her family members. Alto she is a little different from them. Her brother is studying to be a doctor, so he is probably both serious and good in school. I feel like Tracy doesn’t care about school the same way. She said she´s doing okay in school, and that’s enough for her. She also told Mandy she prefers to wear other clothes than her parents would like her to wear.

2.

Mandy´s parents work a lot, I think that´s one of the main reasons to why they do not have such a strong connection. Listening to Mandy´s letters I almost get the impression that they are not even present, or a part of her life. I think she had to learn to be independent. Her brother has a really bad temper. She tells Tracy how he gets mad all the time and is very violent. Mandy is afraid of him and what he might do. She wrote about her attempts to talk to her parents about this, but they all failed. Her parents rejected her, maybe they are afraid as well.
